I adore watches. As arm candy, to see what time it is without having to find my phone, and to convey how serious and studious I really am to those who care to notice such details. I have an entire collection which I will roll-out in future posts, however this Micheal Kors is one of my daily watches of the moment.
Micheal Kors does such nice design, elegant, but always with an added edge of style – like the tortoiseshell surround on the face dial on my wrist above. Watches have that ‘back to school’ let’s-get-this-party-started feeling for me. Did I say I adore watches? For me, they are timeless.
If price is no objection, ROLEX is KING. The classic since 1957, the oyster perpetual Lady Date-Just is the gold standard for watches, weighing in at prices starting at $2500 for a pre-owned model, to infinity and beyond, in steel, gold, platinum, rose, diamonds, every color. For 1/10th the starter price ($250 for us math-challenged individuals) I acquired the gold Micheal Kors ‘Bradshaw’ – factoid: it’s named after Carrie Bradshaw for SATC fans – and I feel just as fabulous everyday wearing my Bradshaw as I do a Rolex. Shown below is mine in gold, in the 35mm case size, next to the tortoiseshell version. I have worn this Micheal Kors watch for two years now, and it is a staple in my accessories wardrobe. Not that I would turn down a Rolex. =)
