I have to confess, I’ve never kept a plant alive for more than a month until I discovered succulents. These darling plants simply love it when I forget to water them until they are bone dry. They also love the direct sun, the partial sun, or indirect sun.
Wikipedia says that succulents, ‘are drought-resistant plants in which the leaves, stem or roots have become more than usually fleshy by the development of water-storing tissue.’ So in other words, they can survive my worst attempts at care, other than over-watering, which is a rarity for me. I don’t even remember to drink 8 glasses of water a day myself!
In addition, I can move them around my house several times a day, or use them as props in photos for my blog. I am almost at the avid fan/soon-to-be-a-collector of succulents. Oh, and last words of advice for the more adventurous greenies, do not move a Ficus tree, ever. Yes, I learned the hard way. #RIP
