Subscription beauty boxes are IN right now and as a product junkie, I put on my beauty editor hat and went to work on the many offerings. After de-boxing enough cosmetics to keep me in products until 2018, here are my Top Five beauty subscription box winners for winter…
The winter BeautyCon Box was the first to arrive, overflowing with both full-size and sample-size products from major and emerging beauty brands. I especially love trying out products that I wouldn’t think to buy. I love L’Oreal mascara for a looonnng time and the new Voluminous Feline is a game changer-upper and a permanent plus-one in my cosmetic bag. I’m now addicted to the Garnier cleansing wash as my go-to to get makeup off quickly, and the SkinVolve body cream will be in my bikini game line-up, like right now.
When Boxy Charm arrived, I couldn’t believe five full-size products actually fit inside the box! Love love love everything this tiny box with big offerings has inside. I’m totally ‘charmed’ and for the price, would give as a gift easily. My faves were the Oscar Blandi dry shampoo – a nice alternative to my regular brand – and the Vintage glow kit, and the mattifying fingernail polish, a YES. I’m playing with the cheek stain, as I’ve been strictly a powder-and-go girl, so this was a stretch for me, but the quality of product was never a question.
Fab Fit Fun Editor’s Box was overflowing with items, including the Mod Cloth blanket scarf which I’ve already worn twice (omg love this item) and the Good Morning Gorgeous coffee mug, which as a sidekick for my coffee addiction, is perfection! This was the biggest box to arrive and it didn’t disappoint. Value of over $200 of products for the Editor’s Box, so basically you would be spending 25 cents on the dollar for an amazing experience. I think I’ve spent more at a drugstore on face wipes alone, actually.
The Glossy Box had one of the most beautiful box presentations, definitely gift-able, and full of generous sample and full size products from emerging beauty brands. A HUUUUGE fave is the oOlution Eye Love which immediately removed my under eye puffiness in less than a minute. Yes, Eye Love – the perfect name. I enjoy trying brands I’d never heard of before, and honestly, what a great way to discover those ‘insider’ beauty products that really do the job.
So Choix, billed as my ‘online beauty counter’ was the tiniest of boxes with the biggest bang for my buck, as I have bought so many high-end cosmetics that simply sit on my makeup counter unused. In fact, I regularly box up those purchases and ship to one of my BFF’s who is a professional makeup artist. But now I can save my big dollars and only buy what I really love. So Choix is about choosing samples of high-end lines, from a range of hundreds of options, and you have a chance to wear them for a few days in natural lighting situations. Ooooh the happiness. Not shown are all the sample brushes they send to use in application, which makes trying before buying one of the smartest ‘Choixes’ ever.
So that’s my top five review for the latest beauty boxes… I am loving ALL of my boxes, and am so inspired to change-up my look for 2017. What are your faves?
